C. Lozano et al., ANALYTICAL STUDY OF NONLINEAR CHIRPED PULSES - PROPAGATION IN DISPERSIVE OPTICAL FIBERS, Optics communications, 123(4-6), 1996, pp. 752-761
The generation and transmission characteristics of optical pulses with
nonlinear chirp are analytically studied. When we compare our results
, assuming a Gaussian pulse with a quadratic chirp at the input of a d
ispersive fiber, with results obtained with the Gaussian model with li
near chirp, the position of maximum narrowing is modified and the velo
city of broadening of the pulse envelope during the propagation is red
uced. Our analytical results are in good agreement with numerical simu
lation of semiconductor laser pulses. The model could be useful, for e
xample, for dispersion compensation analysis.
