Nrs. Simons et A. Sebak, APPLICATION OF THE TRANSMISSION-LINE MATRIX-METHOD TO THE ANALYSIS OFSCATTERING BY 3-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS, IEE proceedings. Microwaves, antennas and propagation, 142(4), 1995, pp. 319-325
The transmission line matrix (TLM) method is applied to the analysis o
f electromagnetic scattering from finite-sized conducting and dielectr
ic objects. The TLM method is a general numerical method for obtaining
an approximate solution to the time-dependent form of Maxwell's equat
ions in the presence of geometrically complex environments. The three-
dimensional symmetrical-condensed TLM node together with a total/scatt
ered field formulation and a local absorbing boundary condition are ap
plied, Numerical results for a variety of conducting and dielectric ob
jects demonstrate the accuracy of the method, Various guidelines for t
he successful application of the method to this class of problem are p
rovided.
