The reactions of In(O-i-Pr)(3) with bidentate ligands of the type R-C(
CH3):NNHCONH2 [R = C4H3O, C4H3S, C5H4N and C10H7] leads to the isolati
on of products of the type In(O-i-Pr)(3-n)(L)(n) [n = 1, 2 or 3 and L
= anion of the ligand], depending on the stoichiometry of the reaction
. The alcoholysis of indium isopropoxy complexes with t-BuOH has also
been investigated. All the complexes were fully characterized by eleme
ntal analyses, molar conductance, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy. T
he molecular weight determinations confirm the dimeric nature of mono-
and bis-alkoxy indium(III) complexes and monomeric nature of the tris
(ligand)indium(III) derivatives.
