The infrared limit of the trace of the spatial components of the two-l
oop gluon polarization tensor is calculated at finite temperatures in
the alpha-gauges. The calculations (performed with dimensional regular
ization and by the method of cutoff in momentum space) show that the a
symptotic behavior of the polarization tensor for external \kBAR\ not-
equal 0 depends logarithmically on the momentum and contains an infrar
ed divergence. It is found that when the two-loop logarithmic contribu
tions are taken into account, the existence of a fictitious infrared s
ingularity of the gluon propagator depends significantly on the gauge,
and for some gauges (for example, for alpha = 1) this singularity is
certainly enhanced.
