Abstract
The free energy and Hagedorn temperature of an open noncritical string in a constant uniform magnetic field are found. Neutral and charged s trings are considered. It is shown that in both cases the Hagedorn tem perature is the same as in the absence of an external magnetic field. The free energy and Hagedorn temperature for a neutral open noncritica l string in a constant uniform electromagnetic field are also found. I t is shown that the Hagedorn temperature depends on the electric field .
