Abstract
Recording by magnetic field modulation overwriting with a flying magne tic head and adopting a 1-7 RLL code, mark-edge recording, and ZCAV fo rmat, was attempted. A 3.5" magneto-optical disk drive with a large st orage capacity of greater than 300 MBytes and a high data transfer rat e of 2.7 MBytes/s on the outermost track was realized.
