To study the catalysis of polymolybdate, the title complex was synthes
ized by phenanthraquinone as the substrate. The molecular structure of
the complex was determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal i
s monoclinic with space group P2(1)/c, a = 1.314 9 (5) nm, b = 1.866 6
(8) nm, c = 1.890 3(3) nm, beta = 104.06(3)degrees, V = 3.310 (4) nm(3
), Z = 2, D-c = 1.521 g/cm(3). Independent reflections of 3 505 were c
ollected, in which 1 382 were observed. The final R = 0.078 and R(w) =
0.078. The result of structure analysis indicate that the complexes w
ith different structures can he formed by phenanthraquinone as the lig
and with the same polymolybdate under different experimental condition
s.
