Abstract
This paper reports the preparation of twelve novel 2-alkyl-5-arylidene cyclopentenones and their derivatives, The structures of all compound s have been confirmed by elementary analysis, IR, H-1 NMR analysis. Pr eliminary pharmacological test showed that III1, III5, VI2 and VI3 giv en orally have a significant inhibiting effect on edema of mice ear in duced by xylene, Further pharmacological examinations are in progress.
