The photoionization processes of dibromomethane have been investigated
in the wavelength range 50 similar to 200 nm of synchrotron radiation
. Based on the measured appearance potential(fn) of the parent ion, th
e adiabatic ionization potential (P-1 = 10.23 +/- 0.01 eV) of the dibr
omomethane was obtained. Furtheremore, the dissociation energies(En),
the formation enthalpies (E(F)), the bond dissociation energies (E(nD)
) and the related thermochemical data of the species have been derived
from the observed appearance potentials of the ionic fragments. Assoc
iating the obtained heats of formation with the previous thermochemica
l data , the most possible channels of dissociative photoionization ha
ve been analysed.
