Abstract
The molecular structure of [(eta(5)-MeO(2)CC(5)H(4)) (CO)(2)Mo] [(eta( 5)-MeO(2)CC(5)H(4))-(CO)(2)W]Fe (CO)(3) (mu(3)-S), prepared through is olobal displacement reaction between eta(5)-MeO(2)CC(5)H(4)(CO)(3)MoNa and (2)CC(5)H(4))(CO)(2)W]Fe(CO)(3)Co(CO)(3)(mu(3)-S), has been deter mined by X-ray diffraction technique. The crystal belongs to triclinic space group <P(1)over bar> with a = 0.871 62(5) nm, b = 0.762 18(4) n m, c = 1.871 11(8) nm, alpha = 94.164(4)degrees, beta = 97.979(2)degre es, gamma = 99.108(2)degrees, Z = 2, mu = 5.9 cm(-1). The final agreem ent factor R = 0.036 for 4 180 observed reflectional points. There is a tetrahedral MoWFeS cluster core in the molecule of this complex with Mo and W occupying two apexes disorderly in the ratio of 1:1.
