Abstract
A re-examination of the structure of SAPO-40 has shown that the orthor hombic space group Peen is more appropriate than the monoclinic P112/n used in our previous structure refinement. Rietveld refinement in thi s higher space group converged satisfactorily with the reliability ind ices R(wp) = 0.161, R(exp) = 0.149 and R(F) = 0.066. The number of str uctural parameters is reduced from 186 to 95 without affecting the qua lity of the profile fit. This new structure refinement is, then, to be preferred over the earlier one.
