Abstract
In the electric are furnace (EAF) process, the use of coal plays a maj or part in the control of the descent of the scrap charge, in the effi ciency of heat transfer to the charge and in the metallurgical treatme nt of the liquid bath, In order to increase the efficiency and the amo unt of coal in the EAF, several technologies have been developed in Fr ance in the recent years.
