An investigation was made of the generation of the harmonics of laser
radiation (lambda = 1.06 mu m, tau = 3 ps) in a low-temperature atmosp
heric plasma and in a surface plasma layer in vacuum. An analysis was
made of the results of generation of the odd harmonics (up to the elev
enth with lambda = 96 nm) and also of the feasibility of increasing th
e efficiency of nonlinear optical processes in a plasma.
