Abstract
An investigation is reported of the special features of the temporal a nd spectral characteristics of radiation reflected from and transmitte d by a plane-parallel plate when this radiation is in the form of a tr ain of plane electromagnetic waves which is limited in space. Attentio n is drawn to the possibility of conversion of trains of electromagnet ic waves into a sequence of shorter trains separated by distances equa l to their length. Possible applications of such trains are considered .
