Abstract
The membranes utilization in the separation processes is conditioned b y a complex morphological, structural and process performances charact erization. The paper presents the usual characterization methods emplo yed in the micro - and ultrafiltering processes. From the following ch aracterization methods: scanning electronic microscopy, bubble-point, mercury porosimetry, gas adsorption - desorption, permoporometry, ther moporometry, standard systems filtering and solvents permeation, the r esearcher must choose a morphology visualization method a pore size - determination and size distribution on, and complementarily, a method for determining the hydrodynamic performances.
