Abstract
The development and application of beta titanium alloys is presented. Originally, these materials were intended for use in aerospace. Howeve r, modern areas of interest include the offshore and automotive indust ries as well as biomedical applications. This has led to the developme nt of alloy compositions which are tailored to the specific material r equirements.
