Abstract
Fused silica capillary liquid chromatography columns with inner diamet ers between 12 and 33 mu m were slurry packed with 5 mu m octadecysila ne-modified silica particles. Column efficiencies and van Deemter coef ficients were compared. A linear decrease of the A term as column diam eter was decreased was the most significant contributor to a lower ove rall plate height at the optimum velocity.
