Abstract
Caraganaphenol A (I), a new tetrameric stilbene, was isolated from the root of Caragana chamlagu LAMARK (Leguminosae) along with (+)-alpha-v iniferin (2) and kobophenol A (3). The stereostructure of 1 was sugges ted using NMR techniques (H-1-detected heteronuclear multiple quantum coherence (HMQC), H-1-detected heteronuclear multiple bond connectivit y (HMBC), and nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) difference spectra).
