On-line coupling of supercritical fluid chromatography to atmospheric
pressure chemical ionisation mass spectrometry was used to analyse a c
omplex mixture of tri- and di-acylglycerols extracted from the tree Co
mmiphora guillaumini Perr. (Burseraceae). The single components, inclu
ding the ant attractant 1,2-dioleoylglycerol, were identified by mass
spectrometry using skimmer-fragmentation in both the positive and the
negative mode.
