Abstract
The dispersion relation of phonon polariton modes is discussed in deta il in quantum well superlattices (QWSLs) and quantum well wire superla ttices (QWWSLs) with square cross sections. Four (not two) branches of phonon polariton modes are obtained in QWSLs and QWWSLs. The physical pictures of phonon polariton modes propagating in a QWSL are also giv en and discussed.
