Abstract
The preparation and properties of potassium intercalated KC8 to be use d as a starting material for a new type of high-rate electrode for ver satile lithium-ion batteries, are presented and discussed. The advanta ges of this electrode over more conventional negative graphite electro des are in the faster kinetics of the electrochemical process and in t he wider choice of the positive counterelectrode material.
