Abstract
Cadmium and copper in salt deposits were determined by atomic absorpti on spectrometry. In the given concentration range of elements it was i mpossible to perform an analysis by introducing the diluted samples in to the flame or into the graphite furnace used in this study because o f the interferencing effects of sodium chloride. The analyte elements were therefore preconcentrated and separated prior to the analysis by using extraction as well as adsorption on modified silica gel.
