Abstract
A new calculation of the Casimir energy for gauge (electromagnetic or linear-QCD) bosons inside a spherical bag is presented. In contrast wi th other works, zeta-function regularization is unambiguously used fro m the start, and extensive use of Bessel-style zeta functions takes pl ace. Basically, the result upholds a previous independent evaluation.
