REGIONAL AGING IN GERMANY

Elderly people in Germany have a specific regional distribution. Recen t regional population projections show that these patterns will change . The most dynamic process of aging will take place in the suburban pa rts of the large western Germany agglomerations, whereas in eastern Ge rmany aging concentrates in regions with a lower density. There will b e a regional deconcentration of elderly people with consequences for t he planning of infrastructure.
