Abstract
Asterinin D and E, pentapeptides, have been isolated from the roots of Aster tataricus L.f. (Compositae, syn. Asteraceae, subtribe Asteroide ae) and their structures have been elucidated on the basis of spectros copic analysis, as well as chemical and enzymatic methods.
