Abstract
Authors described a colonization of intravascular catheter by pink pig mented bacteria from patient who had an chronically respiratory clinic al illness. Numeration according to Maki's method was significant. Nev ertheless, this strain was thunk to be responsible of colonization rat her than the agent of fever. In this study we report biochimical and d ifferential tests of such bacteria. The isolate was Gram negative, coc coid rods, non fermentative, oxidase, catalase and urease positive, Ac cording to Wallace et al the strain belong to ''pink coccoid'' group I . The strain was resistant to the cephalosporins and trimethoprim + su lfamethoxazol. The pathogenic significance of this pink organism is un clear, however it could be a opportunistic pathogen.
