We study the existence of solutions of the Neumann problem for semilin
ear second-order elliptic equations at resonance in which the nonlinea
r terms may grow superlinearly in one of the directions u --> infinity
and u --> -infinity, and sublinearly in the other. Solvability result
s are obtained under assumptions either with or without a Landesman-La
zer condition. The proofs are based on degree-theoretic arguments.
