Abstract
Depending on the cell type and the response, cAMP may either oppose or facilitate the actions of insulin and/or growth factors that signal v ia receptor tyrosine kinases. Recent findings indicate that the effect s of the cyclic nucleotide are mediated in part by changes in the acti vities of important elements in the signal transduction path ways util ized by insulin and growth factors.
