Abstract
(E)-1,2-Dithiocyanatoalkenes R-C(SCN)=CH-SCN (R = H, Bu(n), Ph) can be converted into ethylenic polydisulfides of the type -[S-CR=CH-S]n- by the action of potassium hydroxide and potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) in aqueous medium; these polymers become semiconducting upon chemical doping.
