Abstract
To take account of the known structure of expanded heavy alkali metals , a coordination number-dependent equation of stare is set up. It is t hen shown that the critical constants T-c and V-c. are related by TcV1 /3 = constant, while the compressibility ratio is no longer constant t hrough the alkali series, as required by experiment.
