The present work describes the resonance method for measurement of a l
ow-frequency (about 10(5) Hz) complex shear modulus of liquids by the
use of a piezoquartz crystal. The problem of interaction of an oscilla
ting system of the type piezoquartz-liquid interlayer-cover plate is a
nalyzed. From the analysis of the problem there follow three methods f
or measuring the elasticity modulus of liquids. The investigation resu
lts of a homologous series of polymethyl siloxane liquids are presente
d. It has been shown that as the molecular weight of the series being
investigated increases, the elasticity modulus value also increases, w
hile the mechanical losses angle tangent passes through its maximum.
