The convection in ferro-fluids percolating through an anisotropic poro
us medium heated from below is studied. The system is assumed to have
anisotropy in the vertical direction. This is reflected by taking perm
eability along the z-direction to have a constant ratio to the permeab
ility along the horizontal plane. A linear stability analysis is carri
ed out. The numerical and graphical results are presented. It is found
that the vertical anisotropy stabilizes the system through marginal o
r stationary mode.
