2 DIMERIC SECOIRIDOID GLUCOSIDES FROM JASMINUM-POLYANTHUM

Investigation of the crude drug 'Ye su xin', the dride flowers of Jasm inum polyanthum, led to the isolation of two new secoiridoid glucoside s, jaspolyoside and jaspolyanthoside, together with the known secoirid oid glucosides, oleuropein, ligstroside and Gl 5. The structures of th e new compound were elucidated as [2S-(2 alpha,3E,4 beta)]-3-ethyliden e-2-[6-O-([2S-(2 alpha,3E,4 -3,4-dihydro-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2H-pyran- 4-acetic acid 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl ester and [2S-(2 alpha,3E,4 beta)]-3-([2S-(2 alpha,3E,4 ydro-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2H-pyran-4-yl]ac etyloxy}) -3,4-dihydro-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2h-pyran-4-acetic acid meth yl ester on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data.
