Abstract
We report a new substituted polydiacetylene compound that shows excell ent switching properties. All-optical switching in the new compound ha s been measured using 8 ns pulses width. The switching down and switch ing up times are 33 ns and 27 ns, respectively. The experimental resul ts show that the switching process is attributed to excited state abso rption of the new polymer molecules.
