Am. Vandecraats et G. Blasse, THE INFLUENCE OF D(10) IONS ON THE LUMINESCENCE OF BISMUTH(III) IN SOLIDS, Materials research bulletin, 31(4), 1996, pp. 381-387
The presence of In3+(4d(10)) in host lattices containing Bi3+(6s(2)) a
s a luminescent ion can have a drastic influence on this luminescence.
In Y2O3, La2O3 and LaOCl it is quenched, in YPO4 a new emission occur
s, but in LaInO3 there is no influence at all. Some results including
Sb3+(5s(2)) are also given. The results are discussed in terms of a ch
arge-transfer state. The effects are very sensitive to the choice of t
he host lattice.
