Abstract
A diastereoselective and versatile synthesis of the model insect antif eedant 16 related to azadiradione has been achieved in nine steps star ting from alpha-cyclocitral 1. The key steps involve intramolecular al kene addition of an acyl radical and a Stille coupling reaction of a v inyl iodide with a stannylfuran.
