Excess molar volumes V-E, excess viscosities eta(E), excess Gibbs ener
gy changes for viscous flow Delta G(double dagger E) and interaction p
arameters d for binary mixtures of nitrobenzene with aniline, N-methyl
aniline and m-chloroaniline at selected compositions were determined f
rom the measured values of densities and viscosities of pure component
s and their mixtures at 30 degrees C. UV-visible spectra for all the b
inary mixtures were recorded and showed a characteristic absorption ma
ximum. The results are analyzed in terms of interactions arising due t
o electron-donor-acceptor (EDA) or charge transfer (CT) complexation.
