C. Godinez et al., EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF THE TAIL END SELECTIVE HYDROGENATION OF STEAM CRACKING C-2-C-3 MIXTURE, Canadian journal of chemical engineering, 74(1), 1996, pp. 84-93
Diolefins and alkynes in C-2-C-3 olefins streams can be selectively hy
drogenated to product high-purity monoolefins for downstream polyolefi
n production. The aim of this paper is on the experimental study of th
e tail end selective hydrogenation of a stream cracking C-2-C-3 cut, o
ver two different palladium/alumina catalysts. A series of integral re
actor type experiments were performed and the integral method was used
for the kinetic analysis. The minimization of the objective function
was made by the Marquardt algorithm for multiple response and the cont
inuity equation set integrated by fourth order Runge-Kutta technique.
The comparison between experimental and observed values of the acetyle
ne, ethylene, ethane, MAPD, propylene and propane molar fraction in th
e hydrocarbon mixture, which were used for the minimization, confirm t
he suitability of the fit.
