Abstract
An endochronic model has been developed to predict the stress-strain r esponses of grain en masse. The model uses intrinsic time to trace the effect of deformation history on the constitutive behaviour of grain en masse,A stress-based free energy density representation has been pr oposed to relate strains to stresses. Predicted stress-strain behaviou r compared well with triaxial test data reported in the literature. (C ) 1996 Silsoe Research Institute
