Abstract
An experimental design was used in order to optimize a granulation pro cedure in a high-shear miter for a hydrophilic matrix tablet formulati on. The parameters tested were the amount of water in the hydroalcohol ic granulation liquid, the amount of granulation liquid, and the massi ng time. The amount of granulation liquid was the most important param eter, followed by the amount of water in the granulation liquid. The i nfluence of the massing time was negligible. A granule with a friabili ty below 20% was obtained.
