We study the past and future motion of comet P/Maury (1985 VI) by mean
s of orbital integration, performed over several thousand years in the
framework of the elliptic three-dimensional restricted three-body mod
el, besides a more realistic restricted five-body model. We study both
the purely gravitational problem and trajectories where we take into
account the effects of simulated non-gravitational forces. Orbit of P/
Maury shows a relatively long-lasting stability near the 4/3 resonance
with Jupiter; moreover, before belonging to the Jupiter family, P/Mau
ry came, through close encounters with Jupiter, from a region where th
e comet was under the influence of Saturn.
