Abstract
A simple and rapid HPLC assay is reported for the measurement and kine tic study of transketolase. The assay consists of monitoring the rate of conversion of beta-hydroxypyruvate and glycolaldehyde to L-erythrul ose. The assay is also useful in monitoring transketolase catalysed bi otransformations for all reactions which utilise B-hydroxypyruvate as a method of driving the reaction to completion.
