Abstract
Models for analyzing dependent competing risk data are presented. Thes e models are designed to represent interactions of critical failure an d maintenance mechanisms responsible for intercepting incipient and de graded failures, and they are fashioned such that the (constant) criti cal failure rate is identifiable from dependent competing risk data. U ncertainty bounds for the critical failure rate which take modeling un certainty and statistical fluctuations into account are given.
