Fs. Nunes et He. Toma, ELECTROCHEMISTRY AND SPECTROELECTROCHEMISTRY OF AN ALPHA-IMINOOXIME IRON(II) MACROCYCLIC COMPLEX, Journal of coordination chemistry, 36(1), 1995, pp. 33-40
Herein we report on the electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry o
f the complex [Fe(imox) (Nmin)(2)](+), 1, where imox = 11-tetraazaunde
cane-,3,8,10-tetraen-11-ol-1-olate, and Nmim = N-methyl imidazole. In
aqueous solution, 1 undergoes aquation producing [Fe(imox)(Nmim)(H2O)]
(+), which under one-electron oxidation leads to formation of a mu-hyd
roxo iron(III) dimer with an estimated K-dim value of 1.0 x 10(4). The
forward and reverse rate constants for the dimerization reaction are
k(1) = 1.8 x 10(3) M(-1) s(-1) and k(-1) = 0.18(-1), respectively.
