Hg. Blundell et al., PROPERTIES OF THE STRANGE AXIAL MESONS IN THE RELATIVIZED QUARK-MODEL, Physical review. D. Particles and fields, 53(7), 1996, pp. 3712-3722
We study properties of the strange axial mesons in the relativized qua
rk model. We calculate the K-1 decay constant in the quark model and s
how how it can be used to extract the K-1(P-3(1))-K-1(P-1(1)) mixing a
ngle (theta(K)) from the weak decay tau-->K-1 nu(tau). The ratio B(tau
-nu(tau)K(1)(1270))/B(tau-nu(tau)K(1)(1400)) is the most sensitive mea
surement and also the most reliable since the largest of the theoretic
al uncertainties factor out. However, the current bounds extracted fro
m the TPC/Two-Gamma Collaboration measurements are rather weak: we typ
ically obtain -30 degrees less than or similar to theta(K) less than o
r similar to 50 degrees at 68% C.L. We also calculate the strong OZI-a
llowed decays in the pseudoscalar emission model and the flux-tube-bre
aking model and extract a P-3(1)-P-1(1) mixing angle of theta(K) simil
ar or equal to 45 degrees. Our analysis also indicates that the heavy
quark limit does not give a good description of the strange mesons.
