Abstract
Pygmy goats in the USA occur in a variety of colors including black, r oan (called agouti by breeders), and badgerface. In a minority of anim als the black areas are replaced by dark brown or medium brown. The co lors of kids from matings among black, dark-brown, and medium-brown go ats were observed. The results are consistent with three alleles at th e Brown locus: dark brown (B-d) dominant to wild type (B+) which is do minant to medium brown B-b).
