K. Koide et al., SELF-SUPPORTING THIN B-TARGETS WITH LOW CONTAMINATION FOR HEAVY-ION REACTION STUDIES, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 370(2-3), 1996, pp. 341-344
A preparation procedure for making thin self-supporting boron targets
is described. The method is based on the preparation of a pre-fused lu
mp and subsequent evaporation by electron bombardment. Using isotopica
lly enriched material, uniform films of 30-69 mu g/cm(2) with low carb
on and oxygen contamination were obtained.
