Abstract
Chiral sulfoxides are accessible with very satisfactory enantiomeric e xcesses through a modified Sharpless procedure, based on the employmen t of furylhydroperoxides. Racemic hydroperoxides are found to undergo a kinetic resolution in the course of the asymmetric oxidation. (C) 19 96 Elsevier Science Ltd
