Abstract
Photoionization cross sections, sigma, and angular distribution asymme try parameters, beta, for the majority of levels manifested in the sub valence ns-shell photoelectron spectra of the Kr and Xe atoms are calc ulated. For many levels the results of our calculations are compared w ith our measured sigma and beta values and with other works. The main mechanisms giving rise to the complex photon energy dependence of the beta-parameters are analyzed.
