Photoelectron spectroscopy was used to study ultrathin and thin oxide
films on the transition metals surfaces. Thermal stability of oxide fi
lms in vacuum increases as soon as their thickness grow up. Thermostim
ulated behaviour of thin films in vacuum is discussed.
